Domestic hot water is used for drinking and bathing, meaning it's found in everything from residences to large hospitality establishments. Hospitals and resorts have distinct operations, but similar energy demands, with variations in peak consumption. This is a case where a hybrid solution of heat pumps, solar thermal power, and gas (only for supplementation and backup) was developed. The solution offers a return on investment of 2.6 years and a 92% reduction in gas consumption.

Mechanical engineer with over 13 years of experience in energy efficiency and decarbonization projects, having worked for the last 6 years as a commercial and application engineer in multinational companies.
He holds an MBA in Strategic and Economic Business Management at FGV. He was president of the ASHRAE South Brazil Chapter (21-22) and is currently the deputy director of Energy Efficiency and Decarbonization at ASBRAV.

Mechanical engineer with over 11 years of experience in energy efficiency projects in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. He has worked as a teacher at SENAI (Brazilian National Service for Industrial Training) and as an application coordinator for a multinational company for the past 2 years.
He holds 5 international certifications from the ASHRAE, AEE, and NATE institutes and is the current president of the ASHRAE South Brazil Chapter.
